Uncover the deeper needs driving your emotional eating and spending habits, and learn how to shift from restriction to freedom with a mindset of self-compassion.

This Workshop is for you if:

  • You’re a Millennial (or a young adult) who finds yourself struggling with emotional relationships to food and spending.

  • You want to feel more “in control” of your food choices, finances, and emotions—without feeling deprived or restricted.

  • You often turn to food or shopping as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, loneliness, or difficult emotions.

  • You’re tired of the “restrict, release” cycle, where you go on strict diets or financial plans only to break them later, leading to guilt and frustration.

  • You’re emotionally intelligent and aware of how your feelings affect your actions—but need more strategies to manage those impulses in healthy ways.

  • You struggle with all-or-nothing thinking (e.g., “I have to follow this diet perfectly” or “I can’t spend a single penny outside my budget”) and want to shift to a more flexible mindset.

  • You’re ready to uncover the emotional triggers behind your eating or spending behaviors and gain actionable tools to interrupt those patterns.

You'll walk away with:

  • The ability to identify the negative effects of budget culture and diet culture

  • Tools to implement a more intuitive relationship with food and money

  • Strategizes for noticing the “restrict release cycle” and how to interrupt it

  • A more compassionate mindset around food and money

  • Expert knowledge and resources from a registered dietitian and financial therapist

    Meet Your Workshop Hosts:

    Leah Kern (she/her)

    Intuitive Eating Dietitian

Leah is an anti-diet dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who specializes in helping people heal their relationships with food and body. Her approach to coaching is firmly evidence-based, rooted in the Health At Every Size (HAES ®) & Intuitive Eating frameworks. Leah believes that the work involved with unraveling years of conditioning in diet culture and learning to come home to one's body is deeply spiritual work, and she treats it as such.

    Rachel Duncan (she/her)

    Financial Therapist

Rachel is a financial therapist and art therapist. She founded the Money Healing Club with a revolutionary vision: creating a soft landing spot in the often harsh world of personal finance. While conventional financial education barks about "willpower" and "accountability," Rachel embraces the radical notion that we learn best where we feel safe, welcomed, and permitted to both struggle and grow. Rachel has a unique blend of practical money guidance illuminated by creative insights from her art therapy background, creating a transformative space where financial healing happens through creativity, community, and compassion.

As workshop co-hosts, we acknowledge that our perspectives do not represent the diverse identities within the community of individuals engaged in this work. We recognize the significance of learning from individuals with varied lived experiences, and we are dedicated to amplifying the voices of our colleagues with marginalized identities. To support this commitment, all participants will receive a resource featuring recommended resources by creators representing a broad spectrum of identities.
